GetBizApps attendance: QR clock-in, reminders and corrections

QR code clock-in, office-area rules, missed-punch corrections, shift change requests, reminders, Excel export and late-arrival pay deductions for your team.

Seven attendance tools arrived together on 1 October. Corrections, shift change requests and QR clock-in stay off until you switch them on in Attendance Settings, so you choose what your team uses.

Clock in at the office with a QR code

Put a code on a screen at the front desk and let staff clock in with their phones in a few seconds.

A code that keeps changing

The office screen shows a QR code that refreshes every 30 seconds by default. Old codes are refused, so employees scan the code currently on the screen.

Scanning works without self clock-in

Scanning the office code is allowed even when employees are not allowed to clock themselves in from the app or website.

Office-area check skipped for scans

A scan counts as being at that office. Your allowed-network rule still applies.

A confirmation after each scan

After a successful scan, the employee sees which office they clocked in at, or a clock-out confirmation.

Set office areas and clock-in rules

Decide where and when your team can clock in, and keep those rules in one place.

Clock-ins only inside the office area

Clock-ins outside the office area are refused with a message. Employees can be assigned to an office location.

Remote clock-in for selected staff

Mark employees who may clock in from outside the office. Others are held to the office area.

Allowed networks

List the networks clock-ins are allowed from, such as your office Wi-Fi. These are managed inside Attendance Settings.

A switch for self clock-in

Turn off clock-in and clock-out by employees themselves. HR can still add attendance.

Automatic clock-in on first sign-in

An employee is clocked in on their first sign-in during their shift.

Clock-in after shift end

Choose whether employees may clock in once their shift is over.

Save clock-in location

Choose whether the position of each clock-in is kept on the record.

Correct missed or wrong punches

A forgotten punch no longer means a day stuck wrong in the records. The employee asks, and you decide.

Request corrected times for a day

The employee picks the date and enters the correct clock-in and clock-out. For a night shift, a clock-out earlier than the clock-in is read as the next day.

Set how far back and how often

Choose how many days back a correction can reach (7 by default), and how many corrections each employee can request per month. Zero means no monthly limit.

Approved times are recorded

Once approved, the requested times are written to that day's attendance.

Locked where it matters

A future date cannot be corrected, and a day whose salary has already been paid cannot be changed.

Approve shift change requests in one place

No more shift swaps agreed in chat and never written down. Every request is recorded and decided in the system.

Employees ask with a date and a shift

They choose the shift they want, a start date and an optional end date, and can add remarks.

One open request at a time

An employee can have only one request waiting for a decision, and can withdraw it while it is still pending.

You make the decision

Nobody can approve or reject their own request.

Permanent changes take effect when due

An approved permanent change on or after its start date becomes the employee's regular shift.

Clock-in and monthly attendance reminders

Fewer missed punches and less month-end chasing, with reminders and reports that send themselves.

Clock-in reminder by email

An employee who has not clocked in after their shift started is sent an email. It goes out 15 minutes after the start by default, and you can change the delay.

Optional clock-out reminder

An employee who is still clocked in after their shift ended gets an email too.

Sent once a day, and only when needed

Reminders are not sent on a closed day, a holiday, or a day of approved leave.

Monthly attendance email

On the 1st of each month, the roles you choose receive last month's attendance summary. If it cannot be sent that day, it is tried again during the first three days of the month.

Import attendance from a spreadsheet and export to Excel

Bring in attendance you already have, and get the month out of the system in a format your accountant can use.

Bulk import from a spreadsheet

Load attendance from a spreadsheet. Each row needs the employee (by email, employee ID or employee code), the date, and the clock-in and clock-out times. Notes are optional.

Choose what happens to existing days

For each import, decide whether a day that already has a record is replaced or skipped.

Excel export of the monthly register

Download the monthly register as an Excel file with one row per employee, one column per day, and totals. The export uses the filters on screen.

Late arrivals reduce pay automatically

Stop working out late-arrival deductions by hand. Payroll does it for you.

Set how late marks cost pay

Every set number of late marks can cost one day's salary, or a set number of hours of salary.

Optional half-day rule

When the late marks left over reach half of your set number, another half day is deducted.

Counted within each pay period

Late marks are not carried over from one pay period to the next.

Shown on the payslip

The number of late marks appears on the payslip, with the deduction.
